‘Rudd Awards’ is BACK!

Following its successful debut in 2022, the team behind a biennial, Ruddington-focused awards ceremony has announced nominations for this year’s event are now OPEN.

As before, ‘Rudd Awards 2024′, organised by Ruddington Village Community Partnership (RVCP), will recognise villagers’ favourite individuals, community groups and businesses in six categories, as follows:

  • Sports, Leisure & Culture
  • Village Retailer or Service
  • Village Hospitality
  • Community Group
  • Champion Volunteer
  • Young Star
RVCP Chair Mike Ader

The awards are again sponsored by Okarno (formerly Artex Ltd) on Pasture Lane, with RUDDINGTON.info proud to continue as the awards’ official media partner.

RVCP Chair Mike Ader says: “The inaugural Rudd Awards in 2022 was so well received that we have decided to run it again this year to once again honour the good and the great of our wonderful village. Recognising those that make Ruddington and its community so special is something that RVCP are very keen to continue to do.”

RVCP is looking for individuals, community groups or businesses that have made a real difference to life in Ruddington. Their work needn’t be glamorous and they may not have a storefront. It could be your favourite shop, but it could also be the local delivery driver who never fails to put a smile on your face!

Mike continues: “This year we want the nominations to focus on FIVE core values; collaboration, sustainability, innovation, community focus and raising the profile of the village.”

To nominate your favourite business or individual, all you need to do is complete RVCP’s official online form >>HERE<< or pick up a paper version from Ruddington Parish Council‘s offices in St Peter’s Rooms . Either way it must be submitted by the nominations deadline of 5pm on Sunday 18th February 2024.

As an extra incentive this time, everybody who nominates someone will be put into a draw to win one of TEN tickets for Awards Night itself – to be ‘wined and dined’ and cheer the winners as they’re announced.  This will take place on the evening of Friday 17th May in St Peter’s Church.

Mike adds: “I hope that the whole community will get involved by submitting a nomination in any, or all, of the six categories.”

RUDDINGTON.info will be sharing a full run-down of each category over the next few weeks on our Facebook and Instagram channels, to give you some ‘nomination inspiration’.

Happy nominating, folks!  Please do so >>HERE<<.
